William J. Ferguson II, is a cultural leader navigating the future of a global dance presence as the former executive Director of Garth Fagan Dance for 4 years, as part of a 33 year career with the company. He is considered a person of distinction nationally providing insight and advice for a number of Boards and Initiatives, and is founder of Ferguson Group Consulting, and Bilbilravago LLC. With all the aforementioned, William also embraced a quieter side as a creator of micro sculpture for wear & full size cultural sculpture. Through this work, he has quietly maintained artistic growth and freedom as a rare Black male sculptor for more than 30 years. Ferguson spent his formative years in Turkey and Germany, and is a U.S Citizen. He is a veteran and was crew chief on OV-10a light attack and observation aircraft. After his service, Mr. Ferguson has performed as a leading personality since 1989, working his way to Executive Director in 2020. Today William serves as Vice President of the Board of the Joseph Avenue Arts and Culture Alliance, is a member of the George Eastman Museum board of Trustees, and has served in an Advisory role for the New York State Council of the Arts. A prostate cancer survivor, William’s greatest joy is creating sculpture that represents humanity, and raising his two sons; William Donovan and Nicholas Lamond.
